A rally in banking stocks helped the local share market close higher today after tame inflation numbers indicated interest rates could be on the way down next month.
The figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics showed the Consumer Price Index was flat in the three months to December thanks largely to falls in banana prices as well as the costs of imported goods.Link (submitted by Jason)
